Bio – Luca Barberis
Luca @ Peniche, Portugal, 2017.
Luca Barberis, born in 1980 in Turin, is passionate about photography since his childhood.
He began to attend photographic lessons at the Sisport, where he learned the basics of photographic technique.
In 2007 he enrolled in the photographic group “La Mole” with the aim of expanding his knowledge in photography.
Also in 2007, thanks to the ARCI association “La Cadrega”, is introduced into the world of photography exhibitions, developing various issues such as reporting of Travel, the Landscapes and Nature.
In 2008 through the Association Nord Ovest and the Association Igloo (Turin, Italy), where he is the actual president, arrives to historical photographic exhibitions linking their personal experience with issues such as the Istrian-Dalmatian exodus, floods in Piedmont and the Resistance. He became curator of these exhibitions and photographer, combining these particular themes with a rather strong personal touch, but with a delicate and certainly emotional impact; recounting the aspects that still touch our daily lives.
In the last five years he has held several exhibitions at the Arci Club Torino and participated in cultural events where we exhibited their photographs, like the anniversary of the formation of the Alba Civil Protection and the flood of 1994, in which Anniversary participated as the creator of the exhibition “Memorie d’Acqua”.
The main subjects of his shots are nature, landscapes and architecture.
Until 2017 he lived in Lisbon, where he continued to take photographs and discover new places; in 2014 he set up a photographic exhibition on the murals of the Portuguese capital. He currently lives and works in Brussels.
